Since I must be in an alternate good-news-universe or something, I have three exciting things to share.
1. The release of CRACKED has been moved up three months. *breathe* The new publication date is January 3, 2012. The reason for the move is just as exciting as the move itself. James Howe started an organization called No Name Calling Week in which schools across the nation participate in a week of no name calling--all while shining the light of acceptance on bullying. The guy is an incredible human being.
Well, CRACKED is going to be included in the next No Name Calling Week, which is January 24-28, 2012 - hence my moved up date. I'm honored to be included in such a unifying human endeavor.
If you are an educator and interested in participating in 2012s No Name Calling Week, click HERE.
2. I have an author page on the Simon & Schuster website. I answered a whole slew of cool questions so that future readers can get to know me a bit. The James Howe blurb is on there and a bunch of other cool stuff.
3. DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You can now pre-order CRACKED on Amazon in hardback and Kindle editions.
*runs around room with arms flailing about*
*sits back down and pants*
I can't believe it. I just can't.
In closing, I'd like to address those reading this post who have a dream--publishing or otherwise: dig deep into the pit of your very soul when the dark swallows you, and hold tight to your dream. Roll up your sleeves, do the work you need to do, and never stop believing it will happen.
And it will happen.
This post is proof that dreams happen.

So awesome, Kate! I'll certainly let all my teacher friends know about Cracked and the No Name Calling week. And, thanks for the end of your post. It is exactly what I needed to hear this morning. Exactly. *wipes tears*
Um, are you talking specifically to to me or something there at the end?!?!? <3 :D :D :D
News #1 still blows me away. And news #3: I shall own both, 'natch!!! xoxoxoxoxo
That's so amazing, congratulations! And thank you for the beautiful, inspirational words ^_^
This post made me laugh and cry. I shall adress each jump for joy individually:
1. WAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! IMMA SO HAPPY! I can't quite put into words this waiting game I've been on to get my hands on CRACKED, and now it's been bumped up three. Stinking. Months. What an awesome New Years celebration! I'm editing my calender as soon as I get done with this comment. ^_^
2. After I edit my calender, I'm going on that website to read all about you. Teehee. X'D
3. *Dies* Okay, forget waiting, Imma preorder, if I can just convince my parents to let meeee, because they always say "JUST WAIT TILL IT COMES OUT," but I don't WANNA wait! Meh! I know I would STILL have to be patient because if I understand preorders, you still don't get the order until it's released, but at least I would be assured I would get it, and not have some annoying distraction pop up the day I planned to run to the bookstore. >___< And in hardback. This is totally worth spending my savings on. SQUUEEEEEEEE.
Wow, this is really inspirational. I've doubted my future as a writer form time to time, but whenever I do now, I'll surely think about this. Congratulations on everything! 8'D
I am going to pre-order it right now!!!! That is so exciting! I can't believe it, congratulations. Also your last paragraph was just what I needed to hear today, thank you so very much for that.
Kate, this is incredible. **my arms are flailing** You are an inspiration and love the last bit in your post. Yes, I have a tear and a whole lot of drive.
