What Beth Kephart Thinks About EMPTY

Since the tragedy in Sandy Hook I have been intermittently bursting into tears. I can't fathom the pain of the victims' families, particularly the parents. My heart is with all affected.

This morning's tears were a mixture of sadness and hope, which, I can tell you, are unusual tears to cry.

Beth Kephart's written reflection after reading EMPTY is where the hope came from.

My TEDx Talk

If you've followed this blog since the beginning then you know I have a very large and VERY supportive family. I have 25 first cousins on my mother's side (she is one of 9).

One of those cousins put me in contact with the organizer of a TEDx Youth Day event. I pitched my talk on "The Power of Human Kindness" and was invited to participate in Wilson High School's TEDx Youth Day.

Thank you, Kathleen (my cousin), and thank you Ms. Shepler (the Wilson HS TEDx organizer), for providing me with an experience that will remain one of the highlights of my debut year.

You can watch my talk HERE.
